Dell Inspiron 5505 low brightness bug

 If you have a Dell Inspiron 5505 and any other 5000 series laptop and feel your brightness is pretty low even after setting it to max brightness in Windows settings, it might actually be a bug with Windows. 

Try turning on the Night light and turning it off. It worked for me. As soon as the night light is turned off, the display went brighter than what it was before that. I feel this is a bug with the display driver. 5505 has a 220 nits display to start with, so you can't expect a big difference. If you really need a brighter display, you can upgrade your display to 300 nits one as some 5000 series with Intel CPUs come with these.
